“Dear President Obama”: A Small Steps Kindergarten Class Writes Our New President

January 22, 2009

The students of the Red Room, a Pre-K / Kindergarten class at our Jensen campus, have been learning all about letter writing, the post office, and the mail system in general.  We have seen many letters leave the room and go into the hands of our mailman, who recently came back to the classroom to answer questions from the children.

Keeping up with the inaugural news of this week, the Red Room decided to write to our new president, Barack Obama.  Most of the class pitched in and asked questions to the President as Ms. Shawna wrote what all the children had to say.  We hope you enjoy this as much as we do!

“Dear President Obama,

You are the new president!  We love you!  Do you have a new office?  Are you in charge of everything?  Congratulations on being our president!  Why do you have to live in the White House?  I’m proud of you!  Do you have a bunny?  Do you have a dog?  Do you love Jesus?  Do you like your job, because it is a good job to have.

Thank you for being our President!

Sincerely,

The Red Room”

  1. Thank you to the teachers of Red Room – slowly but surely, these kids show ARE our future, are learning some of the beginning steps and you were a part of that plan.
