Small Steps Students’ Art Celebrated at the MFA!
On Sunday, October 10, Small Steps’ families, staff, volunteers, and Board of Directors were proud to celebrate Small Steps’ Pre-K and Kindergarten students whose artwork is on display at the Museum of Fine Arts. The MFA hosted an opening celebration in honor of the 29 works of art Small Steps students created, in addition to works of art that 2nd grade students from Presbyterian School created.
The young artists took part in the MFAH Storytime Tours throughout the year, where they participated in six one-hour guided tours of the museum and then created their own artwork based on what they saw at the museum. Special thanks to Kaeli Holland, Small Steps’ volunteer Art Specialist, for working with our students and the MFA to make this project a success.
The artwork is on display at Museum of Fine Arts-Houston’s Kinder Foundation Gallery Exhibition Teach Me to See until January 9. Please be sure to visit the Museum of Fine Arts to see the artwork on display!
