Kinkaid’s KOCI Kids Serve Small Steps!

December 3, 2010

Thank you to The Kinkaid School for generously supporting our students!  KOCI Kids, The Kinkaid School’s Lower School’s service learning club, has “adopted” Small Steps’ classrooms and put on several projects for our students.

Eleven student representatives of The KOCI Kids, along with Pat Cavanagh, Kinkaid’s reading specialist, and Krista Babine, Kinkaid’s lower school principal, recently visited our classrooms. They brought with them Name Books, books with pictures for each letter of the student’s first name, that Kinkaid students made for each student at our DePelchin campus.

KOCI Kids representatives also made and brought Birthday Cake boxes for our students.  In each box the Kinkaid student included a cake mix, frosting, candles, cupcake papers and other items the student chose to include for our students to celebrate their birthday.  Some boxes included birthday plates & napkins, hats, balloons, noise makers, confetti.  They truly made a party in a box for our students and families!

Thank you to The Kinkaid School and the KOCI Kids service learning club.  We are grateful for the thoughtful ways you are serving our students!
