It’s Summer Time at Small Steps!

June 27, 2011

Summer at Small Steps is always an exciting time for our students. Every year the summer program has a different theme and this year Small Steps students traveled around the world, classroom to classroom. Each classroom studied a different country or continent - Mexico, Africa, Spain and Italy. Students explored each country visiting different classrooms learning about the culture, food, native animals and apparel.

Some classrooms even had visitors from their countries share their knowledge and experience of their homeland. The Kindergarten and Pre-K class learned about Ghana from a Small Steps volunteer who is a native of that country.

Other fun summer activities included splash day where students enjoyed playing in the water on the playground, learning how to cook pizza and bake bread, and creating fun stained-glass window art.
