Houston Food Bank Gift of Produce

December 8, 2011

Through the generosity of the Houston Food Bank and its food providers, the families of Small Steps have received the gift of five palettes of carrots, potatoes, zucchini, onions and limes.  The Food Bank truck arrived mid-morning on Thursday, December 8th, and unloaded the produce which weighed between four and five tons.  Following a class focused on nutrition and healthy food choices, the large group of assembled family volunteers divided the palettes of food into individual bags to be distributed to the families of the Small Steps students.  Thank you to the Houston Food Bank and to all of our family volunteers for making this wonderful Christmas gift possible.

  1. Those look like carrots on steroids. They should go a long way.
