Job Title: Classroom Teacher
Immediate Supervisor: Program Director
Education:
v Degree in Early Childhood Education (or related field) from a university
Job description:
v Classroom teaching responsibilities, including:
o Create and follow weekly lesson plans
o Participate in teacher training and meetings as scheduled
o Record ongoing student assessments and documentation
o Maintain communication with parents through weekly newletters, phone calls, and home visits
v Keep current student records, including immunizations
v Drive or ride on van routes and follow van procedures as scheduled
v Follow guidelines listed in Employee Handbook
v Maintain national accreditation and licensing standards
Work hours:
o M-F 7:45-4:15
o Weekly Extended Lunch (1 1/2 hours)
o Weekly Early Departure (2:00)
Compensation and Benefits:
v Pay commensurate with experience
v Partial payment (80%) toward individual health insurance policy
v School holidays, which have historically included:
o 1 week for Thanksgiving
o 2 weeks for Christmas
o 1 week for Spring Break
o 6 weeks during summer
o Additional observed holidays

v High School Diploma or GED
v Child Development Associate (or equivalent) (completed or in classes) OR
v Associate’s degree (or higher) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or equivalent
Job description:
v Assist teacher in the classroom, including:
o Preparing materials
o Teaching small, primary group
o Following teacher lesson plans
o Teaching whole group when lead teacher is absent
o Communicating with parents
o Participate in teacher training and meetings as scheduled
v Drive or ride on van routes and follow van procedures as scheduled
v Follow guidelines listed in Employee Handbook
v Maintain national accreditation and licensing standards
Work hours:
o M-F 7:45-4:00
o Weekly Extended Lunch (1 ˝ hours)
